Let’s Do Something (“LDS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose personal information through letsdosomething.com, including our casting applications, Join the Movement forms, chapter and creator inquiries, email signups, contact forms, donation forms, and related communications.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide when you complete a form, make a donation, subscribe to communications, or contact us. Depending on the form, this may include:

• Your name, email address, phone number, state, mailing address, university, and social media handle.
• Your age, interests, reason for contacting us, application responses, and any messages or other information you choose to provide.
• Casting responses about social and political issues. These responses may reveal sensitive information, including political opinions.
• Donation details and records, communication preferences, and records of consent and opt-out requests.

Our website and service providers may also collect technical information such as IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, and activity needed to operate the website, prevent spam, and protect forms.

How we use information

We use information to respond to inquiries; review applications; coordinate casting, scheduling, chapters, and participation; process and acknowledge donations; send communications you request or agree to receive; maintain consent records; operate and improve our website; prevent misuse; and meet applicable legal and recordkeeping requirements.

We use casting answers to assess applications and plan conversations and participant pairings. Submitting an application does not authorize us to publish your responses or use your likeness in a production. Participation in filming is addressed separately.

How information is shared

We do not sell personal information. We may provide information to service providers that help us host the website, receive and store form submissions, process donations, manage records, and deliver communications. These include Webflow for website and form services, Zeffy for online donations, and Sakari for text messaging.

We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of LDS, our participants, or others. The mobile-information protections below apply notwithstanding other sharing descriptions in this policy.

Mobile information and SMS privacy

Providing a phone number or submitting a website form does not, by itself, enroll you in promotional texts. SMS consent is voluntary and applies to the message types described when you opt in. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP. For help, reply HELP or email info@letsdosomething.com. You may receive a final message confirming your opt-out.

Let’s Do Something Casting SMS. By choosing the optional SMS checkbox on our casting form, you agree to receive texts about casting opportunities, your application, and scheduling at the number you provide. Your choice applies to this casting program; it does not enroll you in fundraising or other unrelated promotional texts.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply to messages sent and received. Consent is not a condition of applying, participating, making a purchase, or donating.

Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time. You may receive a final opt-out confirmation. Reply HELP for help or contact info@letsdosomething.com. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Donations and third-party services

Online donations are processed through Zeffy and its payment providers. Payment information you enter into their forms is handled under their privacy policies. We receive donation information needed to administer and acknowledge your gift. Other linked websites and embedded services have their own privacy practices; please review their policies when using them.

Cookies and similar technologies

Our website and embedded services may use cookies and similar technologies to support website functionality, remember preferences, prevent abuse, and understand usage. You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect forms or other website features.

Storage and retention

Information is stored in the systems used by LDS and our service providers and may be processed in the United States or other countries where those providers operate. We retain information as needed for the purposes described here, including ongoing participation, donation records, consent records, legal obligations, and resolving disputes. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.

Your choices and requests

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe option in those emails and opt out of texts by replying STOP. You can contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to update your communication preferences. We will handle requests in accordance with applicable law and may need to verify your identity. Some records may need to be retained for legal, donation-recordkeeping, or opt-out purposes.

Children’s privacy

Our website is intended for a general audience, not children under 13. Casting applicants must be at least 18. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and address it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or practices change. Updates will appear on this page with a revised date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent.
